That was my reply to this matrep's blog which I tagged earlier on..

To THREATEN me that he has my IP address and that he can just send a virus over to me using the IP address he obtained, that's not just ludicrous, but I seriously can't find a more suitable word to describe his "ideology" of sending viruses through the IP address..
I should be the one threatening him for defaming people..
But then again, it's freedom of speech (",)
Honestly, I just couldn't stop smiling =)
Firstly, what is IP address? (IP stands for Internet Protocol)
An IP address is just like your home address, without a home address, you can't send or receive any mails right?
But the difference between a home address and an IP address is that, a home address is definite, unless the person moves to another house then the home address will change but IP addresses are INdefinite, if you guys notice, or even care to look at your own IP address everytime you chat or tag or play online games, it changes. The IP address changes everytime you log in, everytime you refresh the page, everytime you tag!!
This is because the IP address is selected from a pool of IP addresses which is recycleable because the IP address is ONLY an agent to transmit messages. I might be given the IP address 147.132.42.18 now but few moments later, someone from Madagascar might be given that particular IP Address. Without the IP address, the receiver would not know where to reply to. The internet is used globally, not locally.
So Mr Elfy Cute With The E, send a virus by all means, I've printscreen-ed your comment, if my pc crashes, I can sue you in court =) That's it if you ever find my blog and a way to send me a virus through that IP Address you obtained heee =)
It irks and amuses me how bloggers think that they can just find someone through the IP address. Bloggers, stop fooling yourselves. Cause I've let the Cat Outta The Bag.. Stop ranting about IP address please..
