I'm down with flu and thanks to 1 hr of rest under the duvet ( I felt so cold tho it's shining outside), a cough that nearly made me puke and my mom's tea, now I'm sweating profusely (haha) and feeling a lot better, A LOT..
I read a very erm interesting article on dakwah in a friend's blog...It's stated that dakwah doesnt neccessarily/have to Islamic oriented..
I wish to explain my point of view here cos i dun want to flood her tag and end up making her angry or sth cos we're good friends you see but I still have to explain this issue here cos friends are meant to you know, admonish one another, not just left an issue unexplained..I just feel that her point is a bit, mistaken, pardon me for saying that dear friend..Also, a someone tagged her saying that he can still do a rock concert and have people head banging or sumthing and do unIslamic things and it can still be a dakwah..Astaghfirullah..
I know i'm definitely not euridite and not someone who can discuss Dakwah on a erm what's the word ehk, something like up to point of pedadogue-ing. But from what I understand from what my parents told me and from my own summarisation on Dakwah from various sources, I understand that spreading Dakwah that can be as the followings:
1) Summoning or preaching based on the Holy Quran, the Sunnah Rasul s.a.w, Ijtima' Ulama, Al-Qiyas, Ijtihad and the likes as usual.
2) By inculcating Islamic values in schools, programmes, and the likes.
3) By portraying the Ideal Muslim identity in one's attitude, not neccessarily talking about Islam all the time, but just simply carrying one's attitude as advocated by Islam.
It's true that Islam advocates us to always change with the world, if the world says hey, create an aeroplane, Islam says, create an aeroplane, the airport and anything associated to airplanes. If the world says, hey, let's build nuclear power, Islam says, let's build nuclear power and put it to good use eg domestic purposes. But if Islam says, you're not to indulge yourselves into excessive entertainment but the world says, hey let's party!! Who do you follow? Islam or the world?
If a guy said this Quranic verse says to struggle (jihad) to protect our homeland and you'll be lavished with AlJannah (paradise) and all the wealth and riches of the world, will you head what the guys said or search inside the Quran in which manner Jihad is to be carried out i.e. not killing yourself to kill others (suicide bombing), to protect the environment and only attack those who attack you, to let go kids, women, old people and the sick and even protect them when you succeeded in the war, or will you just kill blindly until you win the war?
If a friend said, hey let's sponsor a rock or dangdut concert to show the world that we can still dakwah through music other than nasyid, and let all party till they puke as long as the lyrics is about Islam and thus, it's already a dakwah!! Will you do that? Or will you think of the consequences such as some people will be indulging in alcohols, excessive contacts with the opposite sex (esp physical contact), and just merely what the non-Muslims will say about Islam?
If you share a piece of knowledge to a non-Muslim or non practising Muslim without a dab of Islamic stuff, it's only called sharing knowledge, not Dakwah..
How people live can change, boundaries can change, but the ideas of Islam CANNOT change..
If you understand what I mean..
So if dakwah doesnt have to be Islamic oriented, then what has got to be Islamic?
And yes, i'm asking you my dear friend =)
